Most hottest and sexiest man and woman alive lists are outdated
Search for the hottest men alive or the sexiest women alive and you will find lists with this year's number in the title, many of them already crowned months before the year is over. A winner named in the middle of the year is a prediction, not a result. The year is still running, new films, shows and campaigns are still coming, and the person on top in spring is not always the person on top in December.
Many of those lists are also out of date the moment they are published. They are written once, ranked once and then left standing, while the people on them, and the ones missing from them, keep changing. A list that is a year old, or a few months old, tells you who the media liked then, not who they are naming now.
We work differently. We look once a month at what the media published in the last six months and rebuild our lists from it, so every ranking carries the date it was last updated and every name links to the outlets that named it. And we never crown a year that is not finished. A title belongs to the year that has ended, so we always show last year's winner as the Hottest of that year, and for the year that is still running we show the nominees: the names the media are calling hot right now, ranked by how many different outlets named them, with equal places shared and no one declared the winner yet.
That way you see two things at once: who won, and who is in the race. When the year ends, the nominees of the running year become the winners of that year, and a new group of nominees starts again. If you think a name belongs in the race, you can nominate it, and a vote of 1.99 dollars moves a name up a level among those with the same number of outlets.
Hot is not fixed. It moves every month, so our lists do too.
