The hottest apps right now

An app can be hot like a person: everybody talks about it, everybody wants to be seen using it, and next year nobody remembers why.

How we count. We took a shortlist of 35 apps, from AI assistants to dating apps, and counted how many people opened each one's English Wikipedia article over the last seven days. The shortlist is ours. The order is pure numbers.

What we found. On the day we wrote this, ChatGPT led with about 54,000 views a day, followed by YouTube with 39,000 and Instagram with 28,000. WhatsApp and TikTok came next. AI assistants are the only category with several apps in the top ranks at the same time, which says something about where attention is going.

Why it is not the same as downloads. Page views measure curiosity, not use. A new app gets a spike when it launches; a giant app is looked up because people want to know more. Both are a kind of hot.

What is next. The list updates every night. If an app is missing that you think belongs there, tell us on the advertise page: a custom subdomain can be yours.
